“Whereas: The views of people who live in the upstate and downstate areas of New York State are very different and really should be divided into separate states, or completely autonomous regions.
It is therefore resolved: that the ______(supervisors/legislators)__ of _ (county name)__County have adopted this home-rule resolution and request our New York State legislators support 2025-26 S3484 & A03778 an amendment to our New York State constitution to partition our state into completely autonomous regions; the New Amsterdam, the Montauk and the New York Regions. Each region has its own regional governor and legislature (Senate and Assembly). All regional legislatures would meet jointly as the state legislature for six weeks a year. New York State pensions remain unchanged. The token state government that would remain has almost no power. "
